Doxycycline and Simvastatin: Can You Take Them Together?
Here's what FDA-approved drug labeling shows.
MODERATE
Interaction Found
Taking doxycycline with simvastatin can increase levels of simvastatin in your body. This raises the risk of muscle problems, including serious muscle damage called rhabdomyolysis.
What to do: Tell your doctor if you take both medicines. Your doctor may need to adjust your simvastatin dose or monitor you more closely for muscle pain or weakness. Do not stop either medicine without talking to your doctor first.
